Two Monroe County Train Wrecks Within 30 Min

Roughly 30 minutes before the devastating train accident in Forsyth, another Norfolk Southern train collided with a semi-truck in Bolingbroke, knocking the big-rig on its side and pushing it approximately 50 feet up the tracks. Prior to the accident, the train was traveling north between Rivoli Road and U.S. 41, and the tractor-trailer was at the Mount Zion Church crossing. At least two crossings were blocked following the Georgia train accident, but the driver of the big-rig was able to escape from his truck before the collision, avoiding injury.
