Bus Rear-Ended by FedEx Truck
The Georgia truck accident took place at about 6:10 a.m. on August 20, in the westbound lanes of I-20 in Carroll County, and involved a FedEx tandem-trailer truck and a converted school bus. According to Georgia State Patrol spokesperson Tracey Watson, initial reports suggest that the bus was traveling in the right lane “at a slow rate of speed,” when it was struck from behind by the FedEx truck. “After impact, both vehicles traveled off the right shoulder of the roadway and overturned,” Watson reported. “At some point after the crash, both vehicles caught on fire.”
Truck Driver May Face Charges in GA Traffic Crash
According to the Georgia State Patrol, both drivers were injured in the GA motor vehicle accident. The driver of the FedEx truck was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, while the driver of the bus was transported to Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica. The Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating the cause of the Georgia trucking accident, and there is no word yet whether charges will be filed against the driver of the FedEx truck for allegedly rear-ending the converted school bus and causing the fiery crash.
