Four-Car Wreck a Chain Reaction

The Georgia car accident took place at around 3:15 p.m. on July 16, near the intersection of Cumming Highway and Beavers Road. According to Georgia State Patrol spokesperson Tracey Watson, a pickup truck traveling east on Cumming Highway clipped the back of a vehicle that had slowed for traffic “in an attempt to avoid collision.” After making contact with the vehicle, the pickup truck crossed into the westbound lanes of the highway and was involved in a head-on collision with a semi-truck. After striking the pickup truck, the driver of the tractor-trailer collided with another pickup truck. Firefighters “worked hard to remove the male driver from the heavily damaged truck so he could be life-flighted by helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta,” said Cherokee Fire spokesperson Tim Cavender.
