David B. Rechtman, Senior Partner of Rechtman and Spevak, has been practicing injury litigation in Georgia for approximately 28 years. Mr. Rechtman received his Juris Doctor degree at UCLA School of Law in 1981, after receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. Mr. Rechtman has also attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He has lived in the metropolitan Atlanta area since 1963, and is a graduate of Henry Grady High School.
Mr. Rechtman taught Georgia Workers' Compensation Law at John Marshall Law School as an adjunct professor. He has also been active in planning Continuing Legal Education Seminars for the Atlanta Bar Association, Workers' Compensation Section and for the Work Injury Law & Advocacy Group, a national organization. Mr. Rechtman has spoken and written papers on work injury litigation, including the topics of psychological injuries and job search requirements for injured workers.
Mr. Rechtman served as Chair of the Atlanta Bar Association-Workers' Compensation Section. Prior to his election as Chair, he served many years on the Board of Directors of this organization.
Mr. Rechtman is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Atlanta Bar Association, Workers Compensation Claimants' Lawyers and the Work Injury Law and Advocacy Group. He has been a member of the American Bar Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association, also known as the American Association for Justice.
Mr. Rechtman has virtually spent his entire career representing individuals injured in work accidents and motor vehicle collisions. He has personally represented over 3,000 injured individuals. Before forming his own law firm in 1987, he practiced in the firms of Wilson, Strickland and Benson; Siler and Jonap; and Berger and Rechtman.
Mr. Rechtman is married and has two daughters. He is active in the East Cobb community and has served as President of a Cobb County Homeowner Association. Mr. Rechtman generously volunteers his time for causes such as the Atlanta Community Food Bank, Temple Kol Emeth and the Zaban Homeless Shelter.
